What is it with politicians and their egos? It would seem South Africa isn’t the only country that has politicians that are all too happy to use their supporters to keep themselves out of trouble.

In South Africa’s case, we have the red tellytubby-in-chief who is all too happy to destroy the economy, and lives, in order to promote his agenda. Nevermind the damage their shutdown could cause, it’s all about proving ‘our power’ to the EFF, and as we all spend our Monday waiting to see if the country will descend into chaos like KZN did in 2021, Trump seems to have taken a cue from the ‘shithole countries’ and has called for his followers to ‘take their nation back’.

And why does Trump do this? To keep himself out of jail because he tried to write a ‘hush money’ payment to former pornstar Stormy Daniels off on his taxes. So once again, it has nothing to do with ‘liberty and freedom’ and everything to do with keeping a megalomaniac out of prison. Dunno, sounds very ‘shithole-ish’ to me.

The NYPD and US Secret Service are huddling to prep for Donald Trump’s possible indictment in Manhattan after the former president said he expected to be arrested this week and told supporters to protest.

According to the NY Post Trump took to his Truth Social site this weekend to let everyone know that he expects to be arrested on Monday after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg confirmed that the probe into Trump and his bribes were ready for arrests.

NYPD forces have been dispatched to various ‘hotspots’ in the city, amongst others Trump Towers, which serves as Gargamel’s castle for this tragic cartoon. On Monday morning, police had not yet revealed any specific plans for protests, but just like our own police, they would rather not suffer another embarrassment.

“We’re always monitoring the situation here as best we can and we obviously don’t want to see any activity grow violent, certainly nothing to the extent that we saw during the storming of the US Capitol on January 6, but we’re watching this closely.

Trump seems to confuse his freedom with that of the nation and in his typical capital-laden script, he urged everyone to fight back.

”THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK! THEY’RE KILLING OUR NATION AS WE SIT BACK & WATCH. WE MUST SAVE AMERICA! PROTEST, PROTEST, PROTEST!!!.”

When will these ‘big men’ stop using people for their own agenda? Perhaps when we realise that their fates are not entwined with ours. If Juju gets in trouble for VBS it has nothing to do with ‘economic freedom’, and when Trump tries to cover up hush money to porn stars it also has nothing to do with freedom or ‘taking the nation back.’

But for now, I guess we all just have to wait and see.
