“I got a teeeeext!”
Okay, no, I’m not hot enough to find love on the trashy UK dating show, but I do have news about the stunning South African villa that all the Love Island contestants stayed in over this last ‘winter’ season.
With season nine of the loved-up reality show at a final end – no spoilers, I’m still willfully slogging my way through two months’ worth of sexy challenges and awkward recouplings – the sprawling villa has been transformed out of its iconic gender binary colour hues and into something a lot more liveable.
If you have R200 000 to spare per night, that is.
TimeOut reports that you can now live like an islander (without all the cameras, gold champagne flutes, and fairy lights), as the property that hosted the show has gone up for rent.
The mansion, located amidst Franschhoek’s vineyards and mountains, is named Ludus Magnus and is currently listed on Booking.com for a whopping £9 000 (just a smidge under R200 000) per night.
The post-summer prices (after March) are supposed to be more manageable, but I mean, you pay for what you get:

During Love Island, it was redecorated to the show’s (somewhat dubious) standards:
But now, it’s back to basics, sans the ‘doghouse’, outside beds, garish cushions, bean bags, and light phrases that say “lit”, “swipe right” and “work it”:
Alongside the massive pool, romantic terrace and staff to tend to your every need, Ludus Magnus has its own ‘private beach area’, as well as onsite ‘water sports facilities’.

Consider our heads turned.
If you’re interested in coupling up here, head over to Booking.com or Ludus Magnus for more.
