Artificial intelligence has infiltrated our jobs and our homes, and now, even our beds.
Fine, that is a bit of an exaggeration since AI-generated porn games and porn characters have been coming on the scene for years now – excuse the pun.
The main difference is that now, actual real-life porn stars might have a run for their money.
As The New York Post notes that these epic advances in artificial intelligence technology have caused fears that some workers will be put out of their jobs, not excluding X-rated entertainers.
AI-generated pornstars — computer creations that look, talk and exchange messages just like real people — are the new frontier in the adult industry and they’re coming to (and on) a screen near you.
Last year, Discord, a group messaging platform, set up a community named Unstable Diffusion in order to train AI to “get better at producing porn”.
Since these raunchy robots can be programmed to be “perfect”, with “small waists” and “big breasts”, or whatever takes your fancy, there is growing concern that actual real-life performers will become obsolete.
In the midst of this, some kinky content creators say that the kerfuffle over AI porn is overblown, like OnlyFans star Laura Lux who says she’s not worried about AI pornstars putting her out of work:
anyone who thinks AI generated images of hot naked women is going to ruin the onlyfans economy for real life women has a fundamental misunderstanding of what onlyfans is

Lux points out that the demand has already shifted to more ‘amateur’ porn, pointing to how most people prefer imperfect content and personal connection over hyper-produced and aloof content and creators:
“People do not subscribe to my OnlyFans because they want to see a random naked woman,” she continued. “They subscribe to my OnlyFans because they want to see ME naked specifically based on a parasocial connection formed by following me on other social media platforms.”
“‘T- -ties belonging to a realistic AI-generated character’ will never be as interesting as ‘t- -ties belonging to a girl I subscribe to on YouTube’ no matter how ‘perfect’ or conventionally attractive the AI image is,” Lux continued.
She might have a point:

Sexologist Ness Cooper concurs, saying artificial intelligence simply can’t replicate the complexities and nuances of human sexuality.
Then again, Marginal Revolution has a chat board revealing how many people are already deeply attracted to, even in love with, AIs.
So perhaps these living pornstars really do have hot, and emotionally available, competition on their heels.
