Meghan Markle’s claims that she ‘didn’t know much about the Royals’ seems to be a little white lie as an old blog post has now surfaced where she had some strong opinions about family.
Before she ensnared her very own goofy prince, Meghan Markle was not only a mediocre actress but also a blogger for The Tig – a blog she created and named after her favourite Italian wine. The name is fitting as it appears that she did indeed do a lot of whining in The Tig, and because the internet never forgets, a blog post has now been unearthed in which she has some interesting things to say about the family she would years later claim to know very little about.
Meghan wrote that she was tired of hearing “endless conversation” around the royal wedding of “Princess Kate” to Prince William.
Join the club, Duchess. According to Marie Claire, she went on to insist that unlike most other girls she was not into ‘princesses’, and that her spirit-animation was more She-Ra Princess of Power, the rebel twin sister of He-Man. She went on to decry that many women still retain their childhood fantasies of finding a prince and becoming princesses.
“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”
We have to agree with her again. All this endless talk of a royal princess gets rather tedious after a while. It may also explain why her relationship with Princess Kate has been so frosty. Meghan had to close down the blog before marrying the spare prince, but we hope there are still many more ‘opinions’ to be dredged up as tabloid fodder in the future.
Harry’s memoir, Spare, had a lot to say about the relationship between the two women, particularly the drama surrounding Kate insisting that the bridesmaids’ dresses be changed days before the wedding, and how she grimaced when Meghan wanted to borrow some lip-gloss during a double date. Indeed, horrifying acts of abuse – one can almost call them hate crimes.
Whether the resurfaced blog post will become another Royal-gate issue for royal watchers the world over to dissect like an un-kissed frog remains to be seen, but for now, we have to agree with Meghan aka She-Ra Princess of Power.
It’s all just a childish fantasy.
