Well, this was bound to happen. We are constantly under surveillance these days, and whether you know it or not, the [insert conspiracy theory here] is indeed monitoring your every move.
They know when you leave your house and go to the gym, they follow your every shuffle as you stand in line at Starbucks for a double mocha latte with oat milk, and they know where to find you when your unpaid speeding ticket gets you an invite to court.
That’s right, facial recognition software has become part of our collective paranoia. But privacy-focused designers at an Italian startup have now decided to do something about Big Brother, and at a pretty hefty price, you can now slink around the local mall without the CIA knowing it’s you!
The Manifesto Collection — Cap-able’s inaugural project — went on sale last month after nine months of research and testing. It says it uses animal-based patterns to deceive facial-recognition software.
At a staggering price, the sweaters have been designed around patterns developed by an artificial intelligence algorithm and using animal shapes, the eyesores trick facial recognition software into thinking you are an animal. The brand calls these animal shapes ‘adversarial patches’, and so far the tests have shown them to be effective, albeit butt-ugly.
Being identified as an animal often stops facial-recognition software from starting to begin analyzing, collecting, and storing your biometric data.
So just when the Illuminati thinks they have spotted you in Incredible Connection, their software will tell them it’s a giraffe shopping for a new keyboard while you make a clean getaway.

The missus often tells me I have zero fashion sense because I wear Iron Maiden t-shirts to weddings, but I’d rather deal with the Illuminati than wear those trousers.
