Ezra Miller looked awesome in the new Flash trailer that aired during the Super Bowl this weekend, but there are mounting concerns for the non-binary actor as his past, and recent antics makes Hollywood producer nervous.

The actor with the He/They pronouns has had almost as many public controversies as film roles, but is now seeking help for his “complex mental health issues.”

“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment.”

Ezra has been the star of a string of hits, with a breakout role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower in 2012. Since then his profile and troubles seemed to grow with every year. People recently published a list of his ‘troubles’ and if we are honest, we have to wonder how he managed the emotional energy to star in films such as Fantastic Beasts, We have to talk about Kevin, and The Flash.

During the last decade, Miller has been charged with marijuana possession, choked a woman outside a bar, delivered cryptic messages to the Ku Klux Klan, charged with disorderly conduct and harassment, had a restraining order filed against him, arrested on a second-degree assault charge, was accused of grooming, accused of burglary, pled guilty to a misdemeanour and began their 1-year probation.

He also starred in twenty-one movies during this time. All before the age of 30. It is perhaps not without reason that people close to the actor are concerned about his future.

“I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

Many believe the actor’s spiral toward mental health troubles began when his parents got divorced in 2019, although his troubles seemed to have only escalated after meeting 18-year-old activist Tokata Iron Eyes.

The relationship between Miller and Iron Eyes, which began in 2016 when Miller was aged 23 and Iron Eyes was aged 12, also included Iron Eyes flying to London in 2017 to visit Miller on the set of The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Iron Eyes’s parents believe the teen was the victim of grooming and dropped out of school in 2021 to follow the troubled Miller. A September 2022 Vanity Fair article quoted Miller as claiming to be Jesus, the devil, and the next Messiah.

Miller believed that people criticized the relationship with Iron Eyes because she is “an apocalyptic Native American spider goddess” who, along with Miller as Jesus Christ, will bring about an Indigenous revolution.

We sincerely hope that Miller is getting the help and support that he needs. The last thing Hollywood wants is another “warlock from Mars’ like Charlie Sheen.

The Flash is set to be released in June 2023, but something tells me we will hear a lot more about this troubled young actor before then. But until then, and in case you missed it, have a look at the Flash trailer below:
