It sounds like the script for yet another Netflix series, but a 23-year-old German-Iraqi woman used Instagram to find and kill someone who looks just like her, in an attempt to fake her own death. All of it to get away from her family.
At least a Netflix doccie.
Identified only as Sharaban K, the woman eventually found 23-year-old Khadidja O, an Algerian beauty blogger who lived in a neighbouring state in Germany. Their resemblance was remarkable and Sharaban K arranged a meeting with her doppelganger.
On the day of the crime, Sharaban K, along with a friend, Sheqir K, picked up the victim (pictured below) in their car, drove her to a forest near Ingolstadt, and allegedly stabbed her to death.

Police eventually found the body in the trunk of a car in Ingolstadt, southern Germany. The beauty blogger had been stabbed more than 50 times, and initially, police identified her as Sharaban K. An forensic autopsy however revealed her true identity, and then it was just a matter of time before the entire bloody mess unravelled like a ball of yarn.
The murdering duo were detained by German police on suspicion on August 19, 2022, with Arrest warrants against the pair, which allow criminal proceedings to begin under German law, issued on January 26 and 27 this year.
“The murder weapon has still not been found, but the burden of proof is overwhelming.”
What a senseless death, and terribly conceived murder plot.
