Trevor Noah is travelling in Mexico and he’s having a total blast.

Except at airport security, where a little-known device of his was confiscated because the security personnel had no clue what it was.

It was an afro comb. Get your head out of the gutter.

The South African comedian is between skits for his Off the Record World Tour, with the first show done and dusted in Atlanta on January 20 and his next taking place in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 10.

In the meantime, he’s enjoying a mid-week break with a trip to Mexico.

Clearly, quitting the Daily Show has its perks, like more time for vacations in lush locations.

News24 reported that he landed in hot water at the bag security section at the Mexico airport:

“Afro comb confiscated by airport security,” he shared with a photo on his Instagram Stories. “They said they didn’t know what it is.”

Shame:

I guess Trevor is enjoying the South American country with a slightly more scruffy Afro.

Looks like those cornrows he was sporting are so last year.

He better keep the do well-to-do as he is set to host the 65th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (Monday morning in SA) for the third time.

He says the Grammys is his favourite awards show because “every time I go to the Grammys, I discover a new artist that I didn’t fully appreciate, that I didn’t love for the reasons I should have”.

We look forward to seeing him make magic and get giggles on all the stages he graces.
