At the moment there are a number of battles being fought in the Woke Wars, but every now and again a skirmish occurs that can only be described as a war crime. Or collateral damage if you want to be kind.
Such is the fate of M&M’s spokescandies. Following a heavy barrage of criticism from certain media outlets, particularly Fox News, the chocolate ambassadors have now been cancelled. Faithful readers might recall our recent article regarding footwear aficionado Tucker Carlson, and M&M’s colourful compliance with woke culture.
M&M’s have now announced that they will be retiring their spokescandies indefinitely. In a surprisingly bitter-feeling tweet, the company announced that actor Maya Rudolph will be taking over as spokesperson for the candy as they felt she was someone the American public ‘can agree’ on.
“The last thing M&M’s wanted was to be polarizing.”

According to an article on NBC, the star of Idiocracy is ‘thrilled’ to be associated with the brand. Rudolph will appear in the M&M Super Bowl advert on 12 February this year.
“I am a lifelong lover of the candy, and I feel like it’s such an honor to be asked to be part of such a legendary brand’s campaign.”

Hopefully, critics of the chocolate candies will now be satisfied. May we suggest that M&M’s send Tucker Carlson a pair of stiletto Jimmy Choo’s to make up?
After all, we never see his feet below that news desk. Who knows what he’s into…
