Online casino games such as slots have become massively popular in the last few years, and this has led to the release of many new games covering a huge variety of themes. Among them, we can find slots based on Africa, many of which have a wildlife theme, so what are the new slots that give players a taste of Africa?
Chameleonaire was created by Core Gaming and shows a variety of insects like fireflies and locusts on the five reels. As for the title character, this is a chameleon who sits at the side of the screen and springs into life during the modifiers that can be triggered during the game. There are a number of online casinos that offer this playful slot. Paddy Power online casino gambling website has a new games section where you can see Chameleonaire listed alongside other animal-themed slots.
While this game doesn’t show us much of Africa, we can assume that it’s set here because Africa is home to the vast majority of the world’s chameleons, and the rest of the insects shown also live here. In fact, with the highest concentration of chameleons living in Madagascar, it seems extremely likely that any game featuring this colour-changing lizard would be set there.
This next slot also comes from Core Gaming, who enjoy exploring the beautiful African continent with their games. Witch Doctor Goes Wild has a clear African theme, as the player sees a series of colourful tribal images on the reels, together with the titular Witch Doctor at the top of a prize trail they can look to climb.
While the developers have gone for a light-hearted look, some sources suggest that it may be based on the rich tradition of witch doctors in Tanzania. As revealed by Work the World, in this country a healer is known as a Babu, and this person’s house is generally the first place a sick person will visit when looking for help.
Created by Light & Wonder, this is another slot that doesn’t clearly show Africa as the location, but that we can assume was inspired by this continent. That’s because its theme is based on rhinos, and according to the WWF the world’s rhinos in the wild live almost exclusively in the African countries of South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Kenya.
As for the game, it’s a reworking of the classic Raging Rhinos slot that’s now been brought out in several different versions, each with tweaks to the features and gameplay. This time, expanding reels and extra rhinos have been added to the basic format. The setting is recognisable as the African savannah, while the rest of the animals used as symbols make their home here too.
While slot games tend to provide a less-than-realistic image of the places where they’re set, it’s still good to see that some game developers have been inspired by Africa and have decided to see their new games here.
