A Massachusetts man accused of murdering his wife has been labelled ‘dumb as dirt’ by investigators due to the idiotic trail of breadcrumbs he left as he planned her murder.
Brian Walshe is accused of murdering his wife, Ana, after she went missing on New Year’s Day, and although police have yet to find her body, the evidence recovered from devices in the family home has given them enough proof to charge the father of three.
Using his son’s iPad, Walshe’s searches included “how to stop a body from decomposing,” “how long before a body starts to smell,” “hacksaw best tool to dismember” and “can you identify a body with broken teeth?”
Besides being a really sick puppy, Brian also appears to be dimwitted.
The New York Post reported that not only has his ‘I’m going to murder someone’ internet searches given police a possible clue to how he disposed of his wife, but the searches are being put forward as proof that he is not ‘mentally unfit’ to stand trial.
“His internet searches — as sick as they may be — are rational in a cogent thought type of way,” the lawyer said. “There appears to be a lot of planning and it appears to be well thought out.”
In addition to his digital trail, Walshe also spent $450 at Home Depot on cleaning supplies, a Tyvek body suit, mops and baking soda. Basically a starter kit for murder.
Just in case there was any doubt, investigators also have the hapless idiot on surveillance footage dragging heavy plastic bags to a dumpster.
When police searched the trash at his mothers’ house, they also recovered a hatchet, blood, a hacksaw, trash bags, used cleaning supplies and a rug.
The shoes and handbag his wife was seen wearing on the day of her disappearance were also recovered.
“Walshe appeared to have left a perfect blueprint for how he committed the murder.”
As the search for his wife’s body continues, defence attorney Duncan Levin has noted that the case is not yet a ‘slam dunk’ for prosecutors.
We have to disagree. After decades of watching CSI and Murder She Wrote, it appears that Brian Walshe is pretty much f#%#ed.
