Ron Jeremy, also known as ‘The Hedgehog’, has been declared incompetent to stand trial for the multiple rape and sexual assault charges he is facing.
The adult actor was assessed by medical professionals and found to have ‘serious cognitive decline’, or dementia as it’s commonly referred to.
His condition is so bad that doctors have said his mind would most likely not be restorable.
Jeremy, 70, has been accused of assaulting 22 people over the course of his decades in the adult film industry. The charges form part of more than 30 accusations levelled against him in 2021.
Following the diagnosis, he will be remanded to a medical health facility until a judge can decide how long his incarceration will be.

The charges stem from a district attorney’s task force that was established to look into allegations of sexual abuse in the entertainment industry.
This was also the group that investigated Harvey Weinstein during the height of the 2017 #MeToo campaign.
Having appeared in more than 800 adult films, Jeremy has long been an icon of the murky world of porn, and along with Weinstein was one of the few men who were charged following the investigations.
Prosecutors have asked that his mental state be evaluated regularly.
