This car crash has been described as a “once in a career” incident by the small car wash business in Hatfield Township, Pennsylvania.
Indeed, it is not every day that you see a car skidding in on its side for a little cleaning.
Shame, the 77-year-old man managed to flip his vehicle onto its side while driving into his local car wash, trapping himself inside for about an hour.
Business Insider reports that the unidentified man had just finished paying at the Wave Car Wash boom when he accidentally stepped on the gas, crashing through the gate and into the car wash tunnel.
Hitting the stationary equipment caused his vehicle to flip onto its left side:
Emergency services were called to the scene, where they discovered the man had his car door open when he leaned on the accelerator. His leg was trapped between the door and the body of the vehicle, Hatfield Township Fire Marshall told Insider in a press release.
Check it out:
The crash was an ordeal, but getting him out was even more of a situation:
It took the emergency crews roughly an hour and a half to remove the man from the totalled car, having to remove the roof of the vehicle and also use airbags, wood cribbing blocks, and jacks to evacuate him.
The man was in stable condition and only needed to tend to leg injuries at the hospital.

The owner of Wave Car Wash, Darin Kapanjie, said that “being a small business owner isn’t easy” adding that “accidents like this don’t make it any easier”.
But he is just glad everyone is alive and relatively alright.
