Faf de Klerk has somehow been linked to a bizarre case of attempted murder.
There are allegations out against the Springbok scrumhalf that include wielding a panga to hack a Stellenbosch police captain Lesley Smith to death, as well as hurling racial slurs towards him.
Despite footage being submitted to prove that De Klerk, 31, was training with his new team Yokohama Cannon Eagles at the time of the alleged attack on September 8, per Sport Brief, Smith has doubled down on his accusation.
Smith is insisting that this was not a case of mistaken identity and that De Klerk hurled racial insults at him as he made his getaway in a “ramshackle Toyota Corolla” following the attack.
“I will f****** kill you!” was allegedly hurled his way.
De Klerk’s agent, Lean Schwartz, strongly denies that his client was involved in the attack, stating that Faf was 14 000 kilometres away at the time of the alleged attack:
“He left the country with the Springboks for their end-of-year tour to Europe, where after he left London for Tokyo, Japan to join his new club, Yokohama Cannon Eagles.”
Faf is reported to have signed that R18,5 million contract with Yokohama Cannon Eagles last year.
As further proof of the idiocy of the allegations, Schwartz insisted that Faf has never owned a Toyota Corolla in his life.
Stellenbosch police have confirmed that an attempted murder docket has been registered for further investigation.
There has been no confirmation as to the colour of the attacker’s underwear, but it appears that there might be a panga-wielding Faf de Klerk look-alike cruising the streets of Stellenbosch.
Either that or our Cat In The Hat police boss needs to arrange eye tests for his police captains.
