Kim Kardashian filed for divorce just shy of seven years after marrying Kanye West, now Ye, at a Renaissance fort in the Italian city of Florence.
In March this year, a judge declared them legally single at her request.
While the split appeared to be relatively cordial between the two celebs, that court order unleashed Ye’s dark side.
Not only has Ye consistently lashed out on social media against Kim, her family, and especially her ex-boyfriend of nine months, Pete Davidson, but he also inspired Trevor Noah to speak out against his behaviour being adjacent to domestic abuse.
Kim and Ye are now officially over, though, with details about their divorce settlement being leaked to the press.
US Weekly has the details:
According to the settlement obtained by Us, The Kardashians star, 42, and the “Famous” rapper, 45, will receive joint custody with “equal access” to their four children: North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
The documents also state that the musician will pay the reality star $200,000 a month for child support and is responsible for 50 percent of their kids’ educational and security expenses.
The twosome also divided their property assets in accordance with their prenuptial agreement — which also indicates their waiving of spousal support.
Neither will pay the other spousal support, and they will each pay their own debts.
$200 000 a month for four kids is quite the fee. I wonder how much Steve Hofmeyr pays each month.
Per Sky News, the rapper has complained before about not being allowed to make important parenting decisions and getting excluded from his children’s milestones, such as birthday parties.
Meanwhile, Kardashian accused him of making co-parenting “impossible every step of the way”:
“Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all,” Kim shared via Instagram [in February].
Ye has completely fouled his reputation all on his own and lost his billionaire status in recent months thanks to his offensive and antisemitic remarks, which prompted several companies to cut ties with him.
His lucrative contract with Adidas was dropped and accounted for $1,5 billion of his net worth, according to Forbes.
Kim is also having to deal with the fact that her ex-husband was allegedly showing risqué photos of her to his former colleagues while working with Adidas.
Amidst all this, Ye has announced that he will be running in the 2024 US presidential election and has asked Donald Trump to be his running mate.
Let’s hope he misses deadlines and stumbles on signatures like he did when he tried running for office in 2020.
