The average South African rugby fan wouldn’t have known who Iva Ristic was a few months ago.
Then news of Elton Jantjies’ affair with Springbok dietician Zeenat Simjee broke and all hope of flying under the radar went out of the window.
Despite Simjee’s denials, Elton went on the record to admit that he had carried out a long-running affair with Simjee shortly before jetting off to join Iva and his kids in Cyprus.
He also weighed in after touching down, saying he doesn’t understand why Simjee and her lawyer are continuing to deny that she had an affair with him.
They have insinuated that it was a case of mistaken identity, essentially throwing other female employees of the Springboks under the bus.
Iva has made her feelings towards Simjee well-known, using a clown face emoji to deliver her verdict, and she also has no time for trolls.
On this post from four days back, someone commented, “You don’t look to [sic] sad about your marriage.”

Because we have come this far already, we will now reveal parts of the ensuing exchange:
Iva: I usually don’t take pictures while crying 🙄🤣… You can’t judge by a photo if someone is happy or sad. I don’t use my platform to express my daily emotions. If you are following my profile to see me crying I think you are at the wrong place… 🤷🏻♀️
@camienerasmus: You are the semi ‘celeb’ right so you should expect people to have different opinions and views. And my observation was right you really do care more about the gram because who else would give a compliment stranger so much airtime if they didn’t give a shit. You obviously live for the attention good or bad.
Iva: i am FAR from any kind of a celebrity.. I’m a mother of 3 that happened to travel more than some other people ( not always by my choice ) so I try my best to embrace that and make beautiful memories with my babies and my closest ones… what I am posting now is what I used to post for the last 10 years…I wouldn’t just change my content or stop posting because of personal issues. I try to inspire and give strength to many other people that are pretty much going through what I am going..Doing observations on ANY social media platform is such a waste of time and is beyond superficial…Thank you for your time though..Take care 💐
The exchange finished with another user imploring Iva to ignore Camien because she “is sick in the head”.
I know, we’re not winning a Pulitzer for covering this back and forth. It’s almost the weekend, cut us some slack. You keep reading these stories so it’s partly your fault, too.
Poor form, Iva, why aren’t you posting images where you look downtrodden and defeated?
Perhaps Elton should look into that, given that Iva has already confirmed she is leaving him and said, “Unfortunately I can’t offer Elton anything more than friendship.”
So ends another few minutes of peering through the social media looking glass at other people’s lives.
