Driving for Uber is not an easy way to make a living.
Uber South Africa really screwed over drivers with false promises and very little protection, and that’s a story many drivers around the world can echo.
At least in the case of this truly awful passenger below, there was a degree of justice meted out.
In Washington DC, a woman has been banned from Uber after she went Karen 2.0 in a racist outburst on Wednesday morning, reports The Daily Beast:
According to Uber, the man was a driver who reported the incident, and the rider’s behavior is being investigated. In the meantime, her profile has been removed from the app.
In the company’s statement, a spokesperson iterated that every Uber experience should be “safe, respectful, and positive.”
Thankfully, a bystander managed to capture the woman’s tirade, which included a barrage of the n-word and repeatedly calling the driver a slave.
TRIGGER WARNING: Seen in Cathedral Heights, DC this morning. Apparently this man was her Uber driver and is seen getting verbally and physically assaulted by this woman. She repeatedly hurls racist slurs towards him. pic.twitter.com/u0gJhUyvK5

We crowned 2021’s worst Uber passengers and I reckon this is 2022’s worst all wrapped up, just in time for the holiday season.
Social media has a habit of finding out the names and places of employment of people like this. My guess is she may out of a job soon enough, although she has the look of someone who lives a life of leisure rather than actually working.
The City of Cape Town has publicly stated that it’s going to crack down on drunk driving this festive season. If you’re hammered and hop into an Uber, try and be a decent person.
Fun drinking game – you can check your Uber rating in the ‘Account’ section of the app. It appears in the top-left corner just under your name.
Whoever has the worst rating buys the first round.
