We have not heard the last of the Elton Jantjies affair saga.

Not by a long shot.

Elton and Iva Jantjies (or Ristic, her maiden name) are currently in Cyprus and the Springbok appears to be trying his utmost to repent for his sins.

That started with admitting that he carried on a months-long affair with Springbok team dietician Zeenat Simjee, including while both were ‘on duty’, so to speak.

Iva has said repeatedly that she doesn’t think she “will ever be romantically involved with Elton again” but the real focus of her ire at present is Simjee.

Despite Elton’s admission, Simjee continues to deny any wrongdoing and issued a denial this week via her lawyer, Frikkie Erasmus.

Here’s The South African:

…Erasmus claimed that it was not her, who was seen with Elton, but someone who looks like her. Erasmus went on to say that the know who the identity of the woman is, but won’t make it public because it will cause a “bigger problem”.

“It was a case of mistaken identity. She was not there,” said Erasmus.

“There is many similarities between her and Zeenat. However, it wasn’t her,” continued Erasmus.

The lawyer went on to say that Zeenat was at a family funeral at the time of the Mbombela incident. This comes after she denied the affair allegations via a statement.

Regarding those details, Iva said in September that “Zeenat talking about a completely different weekend that has nothing to do with the timing of the actual incident is actually hilarious”.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words.

Iva has also accused Simjee of blocking her on Instagram and continuing to text Elton, requesting that he take down any Instagram posts where she features.

He’s done that and mostly posts pictures of his family these days:

Kudos to @baronbrando13 for his comment on that one:

Conversely, @baronbrando13, don’t carry out an affair while you’re being paid to represent your country.

We should probably talk about reports that Iva has been messaging Rassie Erasmus regarding the scandal.

…Ristic is demanding action to be taken against Simjee

Jantjies’ wife apparently told Rapport that she had informed SA Rugby director of rugby Rassie Erasmus that Elton and Simjee had been involved on more than one occasion outside of the Mbombela get-together.

Ristic has apparently seen text messages between Jantjies and Simjee, proving a relationship of some kind, and shown these to Erasmus.

The new information has been handed to SA Rugby’s HR department.

Iva reckons Simjee should be sent home from the current Springbok tour of Europe.

That appeared likely last week but “apparently after several meetings between her and the rugby bosses at SA Rugby it was decided she would stay with the team”.

Maybe Rassie didn’t see Iva’s messages because he was too busy sarcastically moaning about the refereeing against France and further entrenching our reputation as sore losers.
