Elon Musk would have known that buying Twitter meant a lot of vitriol coming his way.
Some of the decisions he’s made early on haven’t helped with his popularity, such as the $8 a month ‘blue tick’ verification brouhaha.
Still, he forges on, sharing memes and encouraging people to vote Republican in the US midterm elections, despite saying weeks ago that Twitter should remain politically neutral.
In the words of one excellent article, Welcome to hell, Elon.
Naturally, Nando’s never misses a beat when it comes to poking fun at the latest drama. Earlier this week, Elon, his long-term Mars vision, and his obsession with tweeting inspired ‘Quantum Leap to #Marzansi 20NowNow’.
Not ‘just now’, which as we all know means slightly longer than ‘now now’.
I agree, send the state capture crooks to Uranus on a one-way trip.
As East Coast Radio points out, it’s not just Twitter that’s causing Elon headaches.
This year, Tesla has lost more than 50% of its value and his personal net worth has dropped below $200 billion.
Ah well, I’m sure he can make his $197 billion net worth work for him.
Trevor Noah has also been weighing in on Elon’s first few weeks at the helm, pointing to what he says is hypocrisy on the part of the world’s richest person:
“What’s happening with Elon Musk is a wonderful microcosm to show you how quickly people will abandon what they say is a principle when things aren’t going their way.” @TrevorNoah #BetweenTheScenes pic.twitter.com/GCdFZZtH1L

Suffice to say the Elon fanboys won’t be buying tickets to see Noah’s stand-up comedy show when he leaves his hosting gig at The Daily Show next month.
Let’s finish with Nando’s once more and yesterday’s dig at what has been labelled ‘Cheesecakegate’. Sonia Booth, the wife of ex-Bafana Bafana player and current SuperSport pundit Matthew Booth, went full ‘Wagatha Christie’ and laid out her husband’s alleged infidelity in forensic detail on social media.
A tracker fitted in Matthew’s car allowed his wife to follow his every move, including numerous trips with alleged mistress Bongani Mthombeni-Moller.
The jokes write themselves:
