Looks like Daniel Craig gave up being James Bond to take over the more flamboyant role of detective Benoit Blanc in Knives Out.
Netflix has revealed the full trailer for its upcoming Agatha Christie-inspired whodunnit sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
The Verge is calling it the “most extra murder mystery party in history” which features a star-spangled cast that looks like they’re having pure, unadulterated fun.
Besides the neck scarf-wearing Craig, there’s pec-flexing Dave Bautista, bubbly Kate Hudson, and the potty-mouthed Kathryn Hahn.
The cast also includes Edward Norton, Leslie Odom Jr, Janelle Monáe, Madelyn Cline, and Jessica Henwick.
Written and directed by Rian Johnson once again, the mystery begins when a tech billionaire invites his closest “disruptor” friends to an island getaway.
When things turn deadly, Craig’s Blanc is thrust into the centre to try and make sense of the crime:
As a part of a very expensive deal last year, Netflix announced that it had scooped up the next two Knives Out sequels.
According to HYPEBEAST, Johnson said that the mystery is not going to be what keeps the audience in their seats:
“Remember first and foremost that you’re making a movie and that it has to dramatically work before it intellectually works as a puzzle. That’s actually still the hard part – creating a good story that feels unique and feels exciting and emotionally feels satisfying at the end.”
The fun and games will come to Netflix on December 23 after having a run in theatres from November 23.
