Cristiano Piquet went on his usual pre-church paramotoring flight in the Miami-Dade County area last Sunday and ended up saving a life.
The Miami real estate broker was actually out to look at a property that he was interested in with a friend and had spotted an alligator in the canal that piqued his interest even more.
“I turned around to get a shot of the alligator, and I saw a car under the water,” Piquet told The Miami Herald.
He was flying his paramotor-powered glider with a camera attached and managed to capture the whole scene as it unfolded.
As he approached the car to get a better look he noticed a woman stranded on top, shouting for help. That’s when he made an emergency landing in a field nearby and saved her life.
Have a look at the video he posted on Instagram a day after the incident:

The man who dragged her out of the water was apparently a local resident and was called on to help out, per Insider:
“So we threw her a rope, and she was free, she was alive,” Piquet told WSVN 7 News Miami. “Everything happened so fast, and after we got her to safety, we called 911.”
Six fire department units responded to the scene and combed the area to double-check that there were no other possible casualties.
The woman was taken to the hospital after the ordeal.
It remains unclear how her car ended up in the canal, but thank goodness for Piquet and his paramotor-powered glider.
