See, this is why you don’t go around putting up Christmas decorations more than seven weeks in advance.
Karma struck in London when two baubles, both larger than cars, were spotted rolling through central London earlier this week.
They were seen missioning down what looks like Tottenham Court Road, ably assisted by the windy conditions and almost causing a car accident in the process.
Secret London has the details:
…the yellow-weather-warning winds of Storm Claudio took down an assuming giant bauble installation which was part of promotion for electronic DJ Mount Kimbie’s new album; set to stand firm on the streets until Friday.
The art installation is called “Four World Set” by Tom Shannon, and footage shows two of the 16-foot orbs sadly coming free, unable to stand the unprecedented wind speeds.
Even now, the word ‘unprecedented’ continues to haunt us.
I do, in part, retract my Christmas karma statement due to the fact that the baubles were part of an art installation.
Footage of the baubles on the loose has since been picked up by a number of media outlets:
I guess this is the London version of ‘Godzilla’?
In the end, there were no reports of any injuries and the balls were brought under control a short time later.
Mount Kimbie musician Kai Campos was gutted, though:

Should have taken better steps to safely mount your baubles, pal.
Thanks, Didi
