A collision on the N3 Eastbound before the Marianhill Toll Plaza in Durban on Tuesday proved to be fatal.
Reports differ as to how many cars and trucks were involved, but all in all, it seems there were around six cars and between two and four trucks that were affected.
Dashcam footage from inside one of the trucks shows the moment it went hurtling towards numerous vehicles while in the fast lane, crashing into a few on the way.

Per TimesLIVE, Road Traffic Inspectorate spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu said the cause of the crash was believed to be brake failure:
“The driver tried to push the truck on to the crash barrier but was unable to avoid the vehicle on the road after his brakes had failed.”
“The occupants of one light motor vehicle were pushed beneath a truck and trapped. All three occupants succumbed to their injuries.”
She clarified that it was earlier reported that four women were trapped in the vehicle.
Arrive Alive reports four deaths and multiple other patients found on the scene who had all sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
The jaws of life are being used to extract the bodies of four women who were killed when their vehicle was swept beneath a truck on the N3 eastbound (towards Durban) before the Marrianhill Toll Plaza on Tuesday.
