James Corden has been getting absolutely roasted for being rude to servers at a high-end New York eatery.
Balthazar manager Keith McNally called out the host of The Late Late Show in his scathing Instagram posts and ever since, people have been going ham on the comedian, criticising him for various other social offences, too.
McNally banned Corden from his restaurant, calling him “a tiny cretin of a man” and “the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago” before unbanning him when Corden seemed to apologise.
Everything was alright for a few seconds when Corden went and open the lid on the drama again by basically denying that he did anything wrong at all in a pre-planned interview with New York Times, adding that the pettiness was “beneath” him.
That put the Carpool Karaoke host straight back onto Balthazar’s naughty list and into another of McNally’s searing social media posts.
Trying to stymie the heat, the comedian and host said that he would discuss the affair on the next episode of his show, and as promised, he has indeed addressed the elephant in the room.
NewsAU reported that he “struck a sombre note” as he used his talk show to explain the controversy that’s been swirling.
Give the segment a watch:
This should surely put a pin in it.
