Perhaps someone needs to tell male students at Stellenbosch University that, when more than a few sheets to the wind, they should head for the bathroom and sit when they wee.
The story of Theuns du Toit, better known as the urinating Stellenbosch University student, made national news after a video showed him peeing on the desk and belongings of Agricultural Business Management student, Babalo Ndwayana.
Last month, a student was suspended after he allegedly urinated on a chair belonging to his roommate in the Helshoogte men’s residence.
IOL reports that eyewitnesses said the accounting student “was so drunk that he urinated in his pants while sitting on the chair”. He also reportedly puked on the floor.
Yes, there is yet another incident, reports News24:
Stellenbosch University has suspended a student from his residence after reports that he urinated in the room of his fellow students in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Management of Eendrag men’s residence was informed that the student had been severely intoxicated at the time and reported the incident for immediate investigation.
According to Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Prof Wim de Villiers, the student could face possible suspension.
Prof Deresh Ramjugernath, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Learning and Teaching at the university, said the institution “can leave no stone unturned in addressing this devastating behaviour”.
I’m not sure what that actually means in practice because you won’t stop students from getting hammered.
Perhaps male reses could have a chaperone to help drunk students to the bathroom?
