The British Royals’ world has been rocked by a great deal of change this year.
The family laid the Queen to rest not too long ago and this disrupted the hierarchy of things. Now the one time Prince Charles has become the new King of the Commonwealth.
What’s interesting is that the royal family on the digital screen are also going through changes of their own.
After a fairly long wait, the official trailer for the latest season was finally released and boy does it spill some Lipton tea.
We got to see a brief teaser in September, but now, feast your eyes on more:
It just so happens that this latest edition of the show will cover Charles’ affair with the Queen Consort, which should make for mouth-watering viewing.
According to Mashable, this season will see a handful of changes in the cast. Prince Phillip, Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, and the Queen Consort will be played by a host of new talent, that being by Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Claudia Harrison, and Olivia Williams, respectively.
In the new season, the Queen will approach nearly 4o years on the throne, played by Imelda Staunton, who has taken the rei(g)ns from Olivia Colman.
Viewers will see how the family works through the split between Prince Charles (Dominic West) and Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) since the divorce leaves the family in a bit of a constitutional crisis.
Mohamed Al Fayed (Salim Daw) also shows up with his son Dodi (Khalid Abdalla).
If the trailer is anything to go by, this new season of The Crown will be filled with juicy development.
If you’re an avid watcher of the show, you may want to take a look at the ‘revenge’ dress that Debicki sports.
It may give a strong clue as to how events may unfold in the new season.
