A man who allegedly couldn’t pay for the services of a sex worker was recently spotted dangling out the window of a hotel in the Durban CBD.
The half-naked man was trying to eject himself from the situation at the Butterworth Hotel aka ‘Butty’s’ in the KwaZulu-Natal city, causing people on the street to scream and shout in panic, worried that he might jump.
IOL reported that the viral video was posted on Facebook this week by Sindlo on Digital, a content curator from KwaZulu-Natal.
The man is shown, seemingly without pants, with one leg out the window, while workers painting or cleaning the windows of the building next door seeing a full view of the incident.
The video has since spread to Twitter:

His motives for wanting to skedaddle are not confirmed, but according to comments online, the man tried to escape because he did not want to pay the sex worker that he had been with, in the hotel:
IOL asked the metro police if they knew about and had investigated these allegations. Spokesperson Geraldine Stevens said: “The hotel is private and like any other hotel, anyone may book with his or her partner. We cannot allege prostitution if we cannot prove.
“The area is being monitored and we are having weekly ops with SAPS to deal with all criminal activities/road traffic offences and by-law offences.”
The hotel’s Facebook page openly advertises sex workers who offer services to clients in the hotel’s rooms.
Durban residents, too, know exactly what goes on at the Butterworth Hotel.
