In late August, reports emerged that The Bachelor SA‘s first leading man, Lee Thompson, was living in a homeless shelter after being kicked out of a room he had been renting in a guesthouse in Cape Town’s CBD.
The owner of the guesthouse accused Thompson of leaving the room looking “as if a bomb had exploded”. Things came to a head one night when she received a call that a tenant “had gone crazy” and allegedly found Thompson trashing the room.
The owner claims Thompson admitted he has “a problem”, calling him a “nice guy, but he’s lost it”.
In the days that followed, multiple women accused him of swindling them out of money regarding a tell-all book he had been promoting. Posts about the book’s release date and other details have since been scrubbed from his social media accounts.
Thankfully, reports soon followed stating that the 34-year-old had been taken to a rehabilitation centre in Gauteng by family and friends – his second stint in rehab at the same centre.
It’s been roughly six weeks since that news and now Thompson has reappeared on Instagram, posting about a new puppy:

The comments have been turned off and multiple attempts to contact him by the likes of The Citizen have yielded no response.
Media outlets have suggested he may still be in rehab.
Let’s hope he is getting the help he needs and in due course, will address the circumstances surrounding his book and the women who say they were swindled.
