Last year’s Old scored rave reviews and there was talk that the man who had hit after hit in the late 1990s and early 2000s was back to his best.

He wasn’t the prime writer but he did rewrite portions of the 1999 rom-com screenplay.

Fans of his work in the horror / thriller genre have another film to look forward to. Collider points out that Knock at the Cabin is based on Paul Tremblay’s hit novel, The Cabin at the End of the World:

While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.

From visionary filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, Knock at the Cabin stars Dave Bautista (Dune, Guardians of the Galaxy franchise), Tony award and Emmy nominee Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Mindhunter), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth, Fleabag), [and] BAFTA nominee Nikki Amuka-Bird (Persuasion, Old).

That’s Dave Bautista, the former WWE wrestler, which doesn’t fill me with confidence.

Anybody turning up announced during a vacation is a horror story, if you ask me.

You were correct in noticing Rupert Grint of Harry Potter fame there.

Who’s done the best out of that movie franchise? Daniel Radcliffe is reportedly the wealthiest, although I would be tempted to say he’s been outshone by Robert Pattinson (from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to The Batman) and Emma Watson.

As things stand, Knock at the Cabin will be released on February 3 next year.
