A fairground ride plummeted from around 15 metres at a fair in the northern Indian city of Mohali.
The moment the unhinged ride took its tumble was caught on camera, showing the dozens of people on board bounce out of their seats as debris flew.
The sound of something electric firing off, mixed in with the screams of witnesses on the ground, some of whom were likely the loved ones of the people on the malfunctioning ride, is frightening on its own.
TV9 journalist Nikhil Choudhary shared the now-viral video on Twitter:

Complex reported that per a local news network, the accident happened on Sunday at around 9:15PM local time:
In a comment provided to Insider, Choudhary said eyewitnesses claim there were as many as 50 people on board and at least half of them were injured.
…No ambulances were on standby at the fair, but Choudhary said emergency vehicles showed up to the scene moments after the accident.
Authorities confirmed that while no one was killed on the ride, 16 people were taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
Amit Talwar, the deputy commissioner for Mohali Police, said that an investigation had been launched to figure out the cause of the malfunctioned ride.
While the authorities have promised to take “strict action” against those responsible, the organisers of the fair, which was supposed to end on Sunday, were offered an extension to September 11.
If that extension is followed through with, the organisers may be playing with bad fate.
