You’ll have to excuse me if I can’t muster great enthusiasm for this story but we shall persevere.

Your starting point is understanding that Don’t Worry Darling is quickly becoming the most scandalous movie of the year.

The romance between Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde, the firing of Shia LaBeouf, on-set tensions between the cast – you can tick all of those boxes.

Now we have ‘drama’ anew, reports The Independent:

A brief, yet incredibly puzzling, interaction between Harry Styles and Chris Pine at the premiere of Don’t Worry Darling has gone viral on social media.

Styles and Pine were at the Venice Film Festival screening of Don’t Worry Darling on Monday (5 September) – with co-stars including lead actor Florence Pugh and director Olivia Wilde – when the moment was captured on video.

In the clip, posted by Twitter user JZMaclin, Styles supposedly “appears to spit” on Pine while taking his assigned seat next to the actor, who then looks down at his lap and stops clapping.

Those in the ‘Styles did spit’ crowd have pointed to apparent tension between the two. At a recent presser, Pine was accused of totally zoning out during one of Styles’ answers to a question. Others say he was doing his best to conceal his distaste for his co-star:

Those who believe Styles did not spit argue Pine’s reaction was because he had located his sunglasses:

Representatives of both Styles and Pine have not commented publicly on the incident.
