Women’s Month is over.
Thank goodness for that – now our politicians can stop pretending like they care and get back to fighting each other.
First, it was EFF MPs being removed from the National Assembly by parliamentary protection services and now we have a rare example of internal squabbles turning violent.
Don’t let the farcical nature of the video below distract you from the fact that violence remains the first port of call for so many of our politicians.
The Sowetan with these details:
…the party’s suspended president Mosiuoa Lekota addressed the media.
Lekota, accompanied by other national party leaders, spoke on his apparent suspension that was announced by the now suspended deputy president Willie Madisha on Monday.
As the briefing continued, three men stormed into one of the rooms at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg demanding it be stopped and a fight broke out.
Boksburg seems a fitting setting for what you’re about to witness.
Lekota’s face at the start says it all:

Perhaps the most surprising part is learning that COPE has more than three members.
One of the men who stormed the conference, Mxolisi from Tshwane, said they were left with no other choice:
Mxolisi said they forced their way in because there was an instruction given to hotel management not to allow COPE members inside the venue.
“They’ve instructed management not to allow us to come in here. If it was real Congress of the People, why are they saying some people must not come in,” he said.
One serious political party that truly governs for all.
That’s all the people of South Africa ask for.
