A Major General in Pretoria initially told a story of how he was robbed by armed suspects at “around 04:06 to 04:13” on the morning of August 6 while sitting in a car with a friend.
The senior police officer told police that the “suspects entered premises from an empty house next door”.
But it turns out the General from crime intelligence forgot to mention how he had allegedly brought a sex worker home from a club, who had actually drugged and robbed him.
While his wife was away, the cop allegedly let a sex worker into his home, where she drugged him with a date rape drug before ransacking his house and robbing him of his valuables.
That included his service firearm, bank cards, cellphone, and laptop with sensitive information, per IOL:
“The laptop and the tablet stolen contained classified information including crime intelligence budget as well as some of the police informers details,” a senior police officer, who asked not to be named, said yesterday.
The outlet reports that the General then opened a case of housebreaking and robbery, the truth of which the authorities tried to cover up:
Four independent sources within the police said a crime intelligence officer who is part of the tracking unit, investigating “the housebreaking and robbery” at the General’s house was allegedly removed from the case to silence him after he recovered the stolen items.
“They are now trying to charge the investigating offer with extortion claiming that he tried to blackmail the General after he allegedly interviewed the sex worker who confessed to the robbery and drugging,” Another officer, who asked not to be named, said.
The sex worked allgedly admitted to her crimes, something a senior police officer said she is well-accustomed to as she operates as part of a syndicate in Gauteng and Mpumalanga.
A source also said that “this case was taken from the initial investigator and given to crime intelligence in Gauteng to make sure that the culprit is protected and the matter is covered up”.
Meanwhile, the Independent Police Union of South Africa (IPUSA) is demanding that the General gets suspended “with immediate effect and allow investigations to take place”.
