Elton John is still hip and happening, everyone.

Tomorrow, his new song ‘Hold Me Closer’, a reworking of his 1971 hit ‘Tiny Dancer’ in collaboration with Britney Spears, will be released for the world to enjoy.

I guess he couldn’t wait, though, appearing in a Cannes restaurant and seemingly dressed for the high seas to sing his new bop for unsuspecting patrons.

The global sensation strutted his stuff in Île Sainte-Marguerite on Tuesday, per Connexion France, performing his soon-to-be-released single at the La Guérite restaurant.

The legendary singer-songwriter, at the age of 75, has been writing and recording with Spears, which is why you can hear him holler the iconic popstar’s name in his surprise skit.

This collaboration will be Spears’ first new single for more than two years.

As for Elton, he’s been known to perform a range of intimate and surprise gigs in Cannes, as well as recording in France, over the years.

Last year, he sat in the exact same spot and surprised the same restaurant with a performance of his collab with Dua Lipa, ‘Cold Heart’:
