For the second year running, The Kfm Best of the Cape Awards has recognised the region’s finest across a wide range of 30 categories.

This year’s nominees saw a mix of new and old as familiar favourites from last year’s inaugural awards tussled with new entries.

Five finalists were picked from the thousands of nominees in each of the 30 categories and voting closed on August 3.

The big announcement came on Friday with the winners of each category read out live on air throughout Kfm’s broadcast.

The radio station then posted a list of winners on its site as the good news started to spread.

We’ll start with the winner of the Best Takeaways category, the one and only Butler’s Pizza, which came with this write-up:

Butler’s Pizza is a pizza restaurant with a delivery service and a rich history within Cape Town. Founded in 1989, the pizza franchise has grown in popularity and expanded to seven branches across the Mother City.

A key player in Butler’s decades success is the pizza’s secret recipe created by South African cooking legend Lesley Faull, whose grandson Robert Wilkinson would learn and use the recipe during Butler’s origin.

This legacy of flavour has been carried on throughout the years and won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Well done to Rob and the Butler’s team on another fantastic achievement. Long may the Rotherham continue to satisfy hungry customers.

Also stay cool, nobody panic, but there are two new pizzas on the famous Butler’s menu:

In the Best Internet Service Provider category, RSAWEB defended its title from last year:

Since launching in 2001, RSAWEB has risen in popularity across the country for their excellent service, high-speed internet and efforts to help start-up’s succeed.

Winner of the ‘Best Internet Service Provider’ category in Best of the Cape last year, RSAWEB has once again been crowned because their network stability is world-class, their service delivery is great and their prices highly competitive.

They’ve also taken part in various initiatives to provide free internet to several schools as well as the Groote Schuur Hospital’s neonatal ward.

Two years in a row takes some doing and it’s no wonder when you look at the great specials RSAWEB is running at present.
