The deep cold is coming, everyone.
Get all your bundles ready – data, food, warmth – because you’re not going to want to go outside much this weekend.
That’s due to a series of cold fronts that are expected to make landfall in the Western Cape between Friday and Saturday, with the possibility of snow as well.
Per IOL, three consecutive cold fronts are expected to hit.
The first is currently moving over the southwest coast and will eventually spread light rain over the peninsula, Cape Town, and coastal towns.
Tomorrow morning, the second cold front will bring scattered showers and cold conditions to the Western and Southern Cape.
Saturday will see the worst of the cold, with showers extended into Sunday:
“Models are indicating more than 50mm is expected to fall over parts of the Winelands and Mountainous areas of the Western Cape,” Vox Weather said.
It also added that snow is expected to fall over the mountainous areas of the Western, Eastern Cape, Sutherland, and Lesotho.
That means icy cold winds, y’all.
Here’s a nifty visual:

Via Google Weather, Saturday morning, in particular, looks like it’s going to chill the bones:
Keep safe and stay warm.
Also, try to remember the feeling of being cold because something tells me when summer comes, we’re going to need those memories to keep us cool.
