In case you hadn’t noticed from the hundreds of social media posts, Greece has been a really popular travel destination for South Africans over the past few months.
Who wouldn’t want to leave our winter behind and spend a week tanning poolside in Mykonos? The real one, not the resort in Langebaan.
The biggest stumbling block is the cost, of course. The euro to rand exchange is not for the faint-hearted and if you want to visit the Mediterranean, be prepared to fork out.
What if I told you that you could travel around the world without breaking the bank? You might say that sounds too good to be true, and you’d most likely be right.
Recently, Carte Blanche decided to take a closer look at My Travelution:
They were promised the world – or at least the opportunity to travel it. But dozens of would-be jetsetters claim they’ve been taken for a financial ride by an apparently unscrupulous travel company.
Hooked by the allure of five-star holidays in exotic destinations, and the opportunity to travel the globe on a budget, with no hidden costs, numerous Carte Blanche viewers say big promises left them financially stranded.
More than 60 criminal cases have been lodged against the company since 2017, with disgruntled clients claiming they have very little hope of ever getting their money back.
As the report below mentions, the Hellopeter reviews are a mix of one-star shockers and gushing five-star praise. That’s usually not a good sign.
Consider this a warning coming to you via the Carte Blanche team:
