Jennifer Coolidge got way more than she initially bargained for after starring as the MILF in American Pie.

While her character didn’t exactly make Hollywood take her very seriously, it certainly boosted her reputation in the bedroom.

She has revealed that being “Stifler’s mom” in the 1999 movie allowed her to sleep with 200 people that she wouldn’t have otherwise met.

Nice going, Coolidge.

Here’s the 60-year-old telling Variety how American Pie brought her more satisfaction than just fame or a good paycheck:

Although her bedroom count went up a few notches, it took a lot longer for her to gain proper acknowledgement in the industry.

She is pretty well known for starring in Legally Blonde, A Cinderella Story and 2 Broke Girls, but it was her most recent acting conquest as Tanya McQuoid in The White Lotus that really cemented her as a woman with awesome talent:

That role earned her a first Emmy nomination and a fast pass to the second season (airing in October, by the way) as the only main character who got the part sans audition, noted The New York Post:

…“I have done one thing really right in my life,” she said. “I’ve picked great friends. If Mike [referring to the White Lotus creator who convinced her to be a part of the series] was never successful, and we just did ‘White Lotus’ as a play in a little theater where everyone paid 10 bucks to see it, it would still be one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. Because it was a killer job that no one else thought I could do.”

Although Coolidge’s character seems to have been perfectly written for her, she almost dropped out of the role. Mike convinced her to stay:

“Whenever I’m lying in bed thinking about what I want to make Jennifer do, I know it’s something that she would not want to do,” Mike White dished, nodding to the actress’ willingness to do just about anything on set.

“One minute, she seems fragile, like it’s all going to fall apart, and the next minute she’s sturdy and doing hilarious riffs. Just when you think all hope is lost, she knocks it out of the park.”

Mike’s faith in Coolidge has turned into other fruitful opportunities for the actress, who said that thanks to The White Lotus, “people that I could never get in the door — all of a sudden they’re asking me to be part of their things”.

Indeed, a lot of doors have clearly been opened for Jennifer Coolidge.
