TikTok is so lucrative, that even Instagram is trying to model itself after the video-sharing platform.
We really did a number on ourselves for not getting in on TikTok as things started ramping up, sharing sufficient viral-worthy videos to rack up a massive following and make absolute bank.
It could have happened, no?
Some of the top TikTok stars are out there making enough money per post to buy a house in South Africa’s most lavish suburbs.
The social media scheduling site, Hopper HQ, compiled a list of the top 10 richest TikTok influencers, each making eye-watering amounts, reported New York Post.
The richest TikToker is Charlie D’Amelio, raking in $151 411 (almost R2,5 million) per sponsored post that she shares with her 144,6 million followers:

This 18-year-old dancing queen from the USA has a net worth in excess of $28 million:
She rose to fame after she started using her professional dance skills to create short dance videos on TikTok — and it doesn’t hurt that she’s also a knockout. That might sound easy enough, but me and my two left feet could simply never. D’Amelio started dancing when she was three, and participated in competitions for over ten years.
However, it’s sponsorships that earn her the real money. She’s partnered with big brands such as Invisalign, Morphe, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Hollister.
With her per post earnings, she could snap up a 0,5-bedroom apartment in Camps Bay, going for R1,85 million. Yes, 0,5-bedroom apartments are proving popular on the Atlantic Seaboard.
Next up is Khabane Lame, who despite being the most followed TikTok influencer with 147,6 million followers, earns second best, with a net worth of just over $7 million.
With his hilarious short skits and “top tip” mocking videos, the Senegal-born comedian’s sponsored posts earn him a solid $131 999 each (R2,1 million):

For a single post, this one-bedroom apartment in Green Point, going for R 1 995 000, could be his:
Must be real nice.
Then we have the Filipino-American creator and singer who rose to fame after posting the platform’s most liked video, lip-synching to the song ‘M to the B’:

Bella Poarch has 90,9 million followers and a net worth of $2,8 million, earning $95 614 (around R1,5 million) per sponsored post.
With that amount she could post a video and move into a flat for R1 495 000 in this building in Sea Point:
Next up is Addison Rae, who has moved on to movies, starring in Netflix’s He’s All That, and pulling a multi-movie deal with the streamer:

Her net worth of $21,5 million is thanks to some juicy sponsorship deals with brands like American Eagle, which landed her on Forbes’ 2020 30 Under 30 list.
If she posts a video to her 88,5 million followers, she’ll bank a solid $93 253 per post – also around R1,5 million.
Last but not least, Will Smith is one of the few mainstream celebs to garner more fame doing TikTok right, entertaining 72,2 million followers on the reg:
@willsmithThanx for gettin’ me cute Fawn @dolcegabbana @cartier!!♬ TikTokLooks – Данила
For obvious Hollywood reasons, his net worth is estimated at over $400 million, but he can still make $76 922 per post on TikTok.
At least he has a backup plan after that slap saga.
