If you’re forced to crash land a small banner plane into the ocean, you can do a lot worse than land it during a lifesaving event.

Friday’s crash, which occurred near Huntington Beach, California at around 1:30PM, came in the midst of the 2022 California Surf Lifesaving Association Junior Lifeguard Championship.

However, plenty of senior lifesavers were on hand to spring into action once the plane, a small, single-engine Piper Cub, touched down.

There was nobody in the water at the time, reports PEOPLE:

The Huntington Beach Fire Department responded to the scene around 1:30 pm after receiving a call about a “downed aircraft” in the south area of Beach Boulevard.

“1 person was extricated & no serious injuries were reported,” the department wrote on Twitter.

The plane was flying a branded tequila banner as it made contact with the water.

Fine, I’ll mention that ‘one tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor’ joke. We move on.

That could have gone a lot worse.

The pilot is said to have suffered minor injuries with bumps and bruises and wore a neck brace following the rescue as a precaution.

 The Federal Aviation Administration records revealed the aircraft was tied to a company named Van Wagner Aerial Media.

Witnesses say that the plane wasn’t making any noises as it crashed.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
