I don’t know if you saw Brad Pitt’s most recent GQ cover shoot, but if you did, then you’ll be aware of the Harry Style-ification going on in his life.
Quentin Tarantino said in that GQ interview that Pitt “gets the joke” because he is “really good-looking. He’s also really masculine and he’s also really hip.”
The 58-year-old action actor’s David Bowie-like gender-bending has since crossed over creative lines, going from magazine covers to a red carpet event.
He sported a brown linen knee-length skirt and matching raw-hem jacket while attending a screening for his upcoming film, Bullet Train, in Berlin on Tuesday, and fans and gossip rags are positively enthralled.
To make a point, one website even adopted the classic Daily Mail headline style, which tends to overuse the word “flaunts” (exhibits A, B, and C are all from the last couple of days, for example) – “Brad Pitt slays as he rocks linen skirt to flaunt muscular and tattooed legs on red carpet“.
Yup, those are his biker-booted, rhino-tattooed legs you see up top and below:
PEOPLE reported that Brad Pitt has thought of wearing skirts as cool for some time now:
According to British Vogue, Pitt once anticipated that men would add skirts to their wardrobe collection while promoting his film Troy in 2004.
“Men will be wearing skirts by next summer,” he said at the time, per the outlet. “That’s my prediction and proclamation. The film answers to both genders. We were going for realism and Greeks wore skirts all the time then.”
As far back as 1999, the Academy Award-winning actor was donning dresses, once photographed in such by Mark Seliger for a Rolling Stone cover:
In fact, it seems Harry Styles has been Brad Pitting all this time.
GQ once again reported on its cover “starshine”, describing the outfit with a flourish:
This morning, we reported on the Brad Pitt-shaped linen superstorm that hit in Paris over the weekend. Now, we are live with a breaking update that the flaxen tempest has shifted skies over to Berlin, where Pitt and his Bullet Train co-stars are promoting their new film.
However, here in the German capital, the storm takes a new form: a linen skirt set.
I mean really, are we that shaken?
At least they conclude with a more practical sentiment about “maximum airflow”.
Another one for the road:
