Nobody likes an awkward video of Meghan and Harry more than body language experts.
They rub their hands together with glee, and in doing so mimick the gesture of making money.
Hey, look, I’m also a body language expert now.
Prince Harry, or The Duke of Sussex if you prefer, spoke at the UN General Assembly event in New York on July 18. I’m sure he’s well aware of the drama surrounding the release of Tom Bower’s book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors.
The book claims Harry’s friends texted one another that he “must be f—ing nuts” for dating Meghan after they spent a weekend with her back in 2016.
Any public appearance by the Sussexes is picked apart in the days that follow. A video showing Harry and Meghan Markle in their seats at the General Assembly event is no different – here come the body language experts.
This clip is at the centre of much of the chat:

That looks like trouble in paradise.
Jesús Enrique Rosas, aka The Body Language Guy on YouTube, gave his assessment. Below via The Express:
Jesús describes the shape Meghan’s hand makes when she holds Harry as a “claw”.
“The moment she touches his hand, what happens with his expression? His face is also tense at that moment. There are so many signals at the same time!”
“He is visibly nervous, and he is venting – when you put your tongue in your cheek, he is doing that, his attitude changed completely,” the body language expert claimed.
Not to be outdone, The Sun’s body language expert Judi James weighed in.
She says Harry was exhibiting signs of “high-level nervousness and tension” and Meghan may have been trying to calm him down:
She explained: “A much calmer and more poised Meghan went into firm parental mode, using a correctional gesture to ensure reassurance after Harry appeared to dismiss or shrug off her hand clasp.”
…The expert said: “His constant fiddling with his wedding ring, which is a self-comfort ritual like a child might suck its thumb or carry a comfort-blanket.”
…However, the expert says Meghan is in tune with her husband’s body language and tries to calm to his nerves.
Hang on – somebody from The Sun is actually sticking up for Meghan? Now I’ve seen it all.
It doesn’t help that the most widely viewed clip, shared above, has been edited in the way that it has:
Expect for the fact this footage was edited😭 Why are you deranges so deranged! So crazy that people spend time editing footage just to create a narrative! pic.twitter.com/7CG8zG4t8O

The full clip does have its fair share of awkward moments but most people would be nervous ahead of giving the keynote speech at a UN General Assembly.
A question like this as you arrive only adds to the tension:

No doubt the Sussexes will be happy to head back to the relative quiet of Montecito.
