Ryan Fischer (above) was casually strolling along with Lady Gaga’s three French bulldogs in Hollywood last February when he was confronted by a man with a gun.
The dog walker was attacked and shot, and two of the dogs ‘dognapped’, all of which was captured on CCTV footage from a nearby home.
Gaga’s hounds were recovered not too long after and Fischer, who was treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, made a full recovery.
Five people, all of them alleged to be gang members, were arrested for their involvement in the theft. One of those, 19-year-old James Howard Jackson, is believed to have been the gunman who opened fire and has been charged with attempted murder.
There’s just one major issue, reports The New York Post:
US Marshals are searching for an “armed and dangerous” man accused of shooting Lady Gaga’s dog walker last year, only to be mistakenly let out of a Los Angeles jail three months ago.
Fugitive James Howard Jackson, 19, has been on the lam since April 6 when a clerical error showed the charges against him had been dropped…
The US Marshals Service announced Monday it was offering a $5,000 reward for information after the agency was asked to get involved by the LA County Sheriff’s Department.
Yes, they accidentally released a man described as “armed and dangerous”.
Fischer expressed his concern when news of Jackon’s release first surfaced. The LA County Sheriff’s Department asking the US Marshals to get involved shows they likely have no idea where he might be hiding.
The clerical error arose when Jackson’s charges were to have been replaced by a superseding grand jury indictment that was never entered into the system, reports said.
Lady Gaga had offered a $500 000 reward for the return of the two dogs that were taken, Koji and Gustav.
The two people who came forward claiming to have found them were among the five arrested.
