Times Square in New York City clearly has no problem with creatures from Hollywood getting too close for comfort.
Movie and series advertising has gone up a notch in the tourist hotspot, with 3D billboards getting increasingly convincing and threatening.
Darth Vader was seen terrorising tourists in honour of releasing the final season of the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi last month.
This month, the jump scare is even worse with an “undead Licker-looking creature”, per CinemaBlend, smashing out of its glass enclosure and teetering on the edge of the screen as if it is about to wreak absolute havoc.

The billboard is advertising Netflix’s new Resident Evil series, which if you’ve seen the trailer (we’ve popped it down below if you haven’t) is all about how the T-virus can turn anything into a raging monster:
The series is already available on Netflix but hasn’t been that well received:
It mostly attracted mixed reviews from critics, but some fans have been a little slower to warm up, partially because of concerns related to how little overlap there is with other entries in the classic franchise.
One more look at the advert in action:
Perhaps the press coverage around the billboard in the past few days will kick things into gear for the series, though. The Twitter video already has close to 13 million views and counting.
