It’s not much but the creepy new teaser for season 2 of Squid Game suggests that the gigantic animatronic doll will be back for more deathly game-playing.
“Red light… GREENLIGHT!”
Netflix released the frustratingly quick teaser for the second instalment of the hit series alongside a message from the creator, writer, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-Hyuk.

Variety has that statement:
“It took 12 years to bring the first season of ‘Squid Game’ to life last year. But it took 12 days for ‘Squid Game’ to become the most popular Netflix series ever,” reads the statement from director Hwang.
“As the writer, director and producer of ‘Squid Game,’ a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show.”
Thankfully, can expect the same protagonist Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the masked antagonist the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) to return in the follow-up season:
Yeah, there was definitely some unfinished business there: “Join us once more for a whole new round,” the statement concludes:
#SquidGame Season 2 is confirmed!!! 🥳
“And now, Gi-hun returns.
The Front Man returns.
Season 2 is coming.

The dystopian show about desperate and depraved people competing in deadly games for cash had inspired a lot of last year’s Halloween costumes and SNL sketches, becoming the streamer’s biggest-ever hit, outdoing even Bridgerton.
Fans are frothing that eight months after its premiere, Season 2 has officially been announced.
Although, fans will have to be patient.
Last month, Hwang said the show likely won’t be ready for release until late 2023, or even 2024.
So I guess, until then, we’ll all have to sustain on that brief, creepy teaser.
