The British Royal family, and those adjacent to it, release photos of their little ones in dribs and drabs.
Finally, after a long wait, the public has been spoilt with a fresh set of pictures of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s now fully one-year-old baby daughter, Lilibet.
Before this weekend, there was only one set of photographs to enjoy of her and her brother Archie.
In what was revealed as one of those classic happy family Christmas cards that you’d stick on the fridge, we’ve only seen Lili as a small baby giggling as her mother lifts her into the air:
The family has now shared two new shots of Lilibet in honour of her first birthday.
What was once only a hint of her father’s genes has now grown into a full head of his ginger curls and blue eyes, as you can see in the photograph of her sitting in a little blue dress:
Social media has been awash with people pointing out the similarities between Lilibet and her father.
One user said, “Apparently, Prince Harry makes clones! The man’s genes are ninjas!” while another wrote, “She’s like mini Prince Harry”.
Others argue that Meghan’s features are most visible in Lilibet:

The picture of Lilibet was taken by Misan Harriman, a family friend who has photographed the Sussexes a few times before.
He attended the small Saturday party with his wife and children to celebrate Lilibet’s first birthday at Frogmore Cottage, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Windsor home, reported The Telegraph:
A spokesman said the couple were “incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter” and revealed that friends and family gathered for “a casual, intimate backyard picnic at Frogmore Cottage” to mark her big day.
Harriman also took another sneaky shot of his family alongside Meghan holding Lilibet, which he posted to Twitter:
The Sussex family managed to keep a relatively low profile all weekend, with Lilibet said to have been introduced to her great-grandmother, e Queen Elizabeth II, for the first time in private.
But just because they were low-key over the weekend, does not mean the British public followed suit.
Moving on to something a little different – as VICE observes, “nobody does ‘four-day bank holiday madness’ like the Brits”. They’re referring to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, “or ‘platty jubes’, depending on who you ask”.
Here are some snapshots from photographer Chris Bethell, capturing the chaotic energy, which very much includes the “living embodiment of the Union Jack” and far too many Jubilee-themed bottles of Prosecco:
