Tom Cruise is back at it, scaring the shit out of The Late Late Show host James Corden and looking like a kid who got a pony for Christmas while doing so.

On Monday night’s show, all of Cruise’s Top Gun expertise was committed to terrifying Corden, who had no choice but to sit back and take it.

The 15-minute adventure begins with Corden waiting diligently in the dark in the wee hours of the morning, because, “when Tom Cruise calls, you sort of have to say yes.”

Cruise, who we know is hella equipped to essentially defy the laws of physics movie stunts that include brain-melting G-force and nosedives in jets fit for modern aerial warfare, sure took the host for the ride of his life.

Complex described a pre-flight safety rundown that included “far too many uses of the word ‘plop'” before the actor took Corden up in a vintage fighter plane.

But there’s much, much more than that.

Cruise has been doing the utmost to promote Top Gun: Maverick, even taking over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee for a minute to punt the release of the film.
