The TMO has been consulted and Scott Morrison did wrap his arms in the tackle.
Still, given that it was a football match and he nailed an eight-year-old, a yellow card may be warranted.
Back to the on-field referee to make the call.
The Ozzie Prime Minister was on the campaign trail in northwest Tasmania when he decided to take part in some junior training.
Sensing a chance to nick possession from Luca Fauvette, a member of the Devonport Strikers’ under-eights team, the 54-year-old showed a serious lack of balance:
This angle shows that he was actually travelling at a decent speed:

According to ABC News, he did show concern for Luca:
“Where’s Luca? Hope he’s not in hospital!” Mr Morrison said. “I look forward to coming back on another occasion.
“I think that when that grandstand comes down, I hear it might need a bit of a bulldozer to knock it down, so I might be able to help with that,” he joked.
Cool story, bro.
Luca chatted with Sky News:
“So we were playing soccer and I think someone tried to pass it to me or Mr Morrison and what happened (was) he tripped and he was trying not to fall on top of me so he tried to fall underneath me,” Luca told Today.
“It should have been a penalty,” he joked.
He said after the pair got up Mr Morrison told him: “You’re a good sport”.
Embarrassing, yes, but everyone emerged unscathed.
The above political mishap does look familiar. Bumbling buffoon Boris Johnson did something similar in 2015 while he was Mayor of London:
Johnson has since gone on to become a truly terrible leader.
If Australia lets Morrison get away with that tackle, who knows what comes next.
