This over-the-top ‘log cabin’ in Utah is the perfect place to fortify yourself against the elements.
Can you call it a log cabin? I feel like once you hit a sixth bedroom and the price ticks into mansion territory, you might have to let go of the ‘log cabin’ description but clearly, these realtors disagree.
The sprawling estate in was designed to be self-sufficient and off-the-grid, with safe rooms and spy-like features that a doomsday prepper would be fond of.
The anonymous seller is selling the home outside Park City for a whopping $26 million (around R415 million ).
At a massive 1 150 square metres, the Deer Knoll Drive estate took four years to complete with the main residence detached from the garage, says Robb Report:
The main house has six bedrooms and 6,5 bathrooms, with a bunk room featuring multiple queen-sized beds, too:
To get to the garage one does not need to brave the weather as there is a 48-metre underground tunnel made from reclaimed wood and complete with heating and air conditioning:
Not that one needs to worry about walking through the snow outside in the thick of winter as all of the driveways are heated.
Then, there’s the vaulted safe room that houses the home’s security and that is secured with double reinforced concrete, complete with a bathroom and fridge.
Oh and there’s a private helipad just next to the garage, as well as three completely self-reliant sources of power.

How quaint.
