It is truly amazing that nobody was hurt by this brazen truck driver’s reckless driving.
On the Amajuba Pass, north of Newcastle on the road to Volksrust in Mpumulanga, a stretch of road that is notorious for truck accidents and fatalities, the driver was filmed speed weaving in and out of lanes like it was nobody’s business.
Except, other upstanding citizens who witnessed and were confronted by the Ni-Da Group Transport truck reported the vehicle to the police.
The driver posed a major risk to drivers on the N11 on the morning of May 14, even doing a little damage to a trailer attached to a white Isuzu bakkie.
Thank goodness for the unnamed motorist who had filmed the ordeal, taken down the vehicle’s registration number, and reported it to the Charlestown police:

That awful driving is part of why South Africa has such a terrible road safety reputation.
According to IOL, Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe has confirmed that the driver has been arrested.
The irresponsible truck driver will likely be charged with several violations, as well as a disciplinary hearing and possible dismissal from Ni-Da.
